Join internationally renowned vocal health coach, Carol Fairlamb over 4 weeks where you will explore your vocal expression and sustainability. We will look at tension, breathing, expression and practical exercises to keep your voice in shape.
Overview
Session 1 - How tension can affect your voice and what to do about it
Practical exercises and strategies for reducing tension during those long sessions in the booth
Session 2 - Breathing deeply in small spaces
Practical exercises to deepen and harness the breath to give power and expression to the voice
Session 3 -How to make your voice more expressive
Practical exercises to extend and use your pitch range
Practical exercises to develop the richness and resonance of your voice
Session 4 - Strategies for sustainability
Practical exercises and strategies to enable you to perform at your best for the whole job - including Straw Therapy
Your Teacher
Carol has been a voice coach for almost 30 years. Having trained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, she went on to work in several London drama schools including Central, ALRA, LAMDA and ArtsEd, before holding the post of Head of Voice at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School for 11 years.
She has also worked extensively in the industry - as resident Voice Coach for Sydney Theatre Company, working with Cate Blanchett and Philip Seymour Hoffman; London’s West End, and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
In 2019 she founded the MFA Professional Voice Studies at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she led the training of the next generation of voice coaches.
