Melissa Thom FRSA

Melissa is the founder, CEO and principal coach at BRAVA, specialising in voiceover and high-performance voice, speech and communication coaching and consulting. A trained actor and experienced broadcaster, Melissa began her career as a breakfast host on UK commercial radio networks before moving into senior communications roles across digital agencies and startups; a path that took her to San Francisco for two years. Her background spans marketing, advertising, broadcasting and the corporate world. She holds an MSc in Marketing Communications (with distinction), a certificate in Vocal Pedagogy (with distinction), and is a certified Public Speaking Coach and Advanced Breathwork Practitioner.
Melissa regularly speaks at industry events and has taught at leading institutions including Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (MFA Voice Studies Programme), Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), Ravensbourne University and the Royal Society of Arts, London. She has trained hundreds of acting and voice professionals, alongside corporate clients from tech, finance, biotech and the creative industries.
Melissa currently hosts the HIGH NOTES podcast and is a judge for the SOVAS Awards, the ARIAS, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a member of VASTA, a Women in Games Ambassador and a full voting member of BAFTA.
With a Mauritian mother, she is proud of her Indo-African roots and is committed to helping increase her clients' confidence, with a firm focus on supporting professionals in the workplace.
