This course is ideal for those who have completed STAGE 1: Narration and would like to further explore audiobooks.
From page to performance, your imagination and voice can transport listeners anywhere. Develop the tools to transform words on a page into a powerful listening experience; requirements needed to develop an audiobook business career or side hustle; refine audio technical skills and mastering standards; create a workflow; build credits; and excite a following.
By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools to create a gameplan on where to find work and turn any script into a captivating audiobook that attracts an audience and keeps listeners hooked from start to finish.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Module 1: Performance, Bookings, and Deliverables
Explore audiobook styles; how to use your voice to capture attention; master pacing and vocal variety; build vivid characters; handle recording techniques and microphone presence; and deliver stories with clarity and emotion. Plus, industry standards for recording, editing, and mastering each chapter. Assign audiobook recording sample.
Module 2: Pricing, Timing, and Finding Work
Review audiobook sample recordings. Discuss Per Finished Hour vs. Per Word rates and pricing; estimate time it takes to record, edit, master, label, and deliver the complete audiobook; research authors, publishers, platforms, audiobook narrator groups, and business opportunities. At the end of the course, you’ll be left with a gameplan on how to build your audiobook narration business.
