COURSE DETAILS

Step into new worlds and bring them to life. Character voice acting is a business. It’s more than doing funny voices. Your character needs to be specific to each genre, style, audience appeal, and technical performance requirement. Auditions and jobs leave little or no time to develop a character. To prep your character demo, you need time to build a stable of 5-10 characters that you can quickly draw from and build upon.

Delivered as 2hr weekly sessions over 6 weeks, the aim of this training is to give you an in depth overview into the types of characters you will need to master for a demo, audition, and job. Each week we’ll explore a range of character styles along with techniques, genres, overviews and industry expectations.
This is a fast paced workshop with homework assignments. So, be prepared to play!

*For those that wish to progress to their characters demo, you will be invited to progress onto the next stage when you are ready. After this, your demo is booked separately when you are ready to record.**

Class size is limited to 12max so reserve and book your place below.

The characters course was really collaborative and the environment was very relaxed which is always important to me as I can find it intimidating.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need any experience to attend this course?
This is a highly intensive course which we recommend you take only after completing STAGE 1 Narration and STAGE 2 Commercial. This is to ensure you have laid down the foundational acting techniques for performance and had the opportunity to work on advanced techniques in Commercial. If you are unsure about your current level of performance, get in touch with us for a chat.

Do I need a particular kind of voice to succeed in voice acting?
No. There’s no one “perfect” voice. The industry needs a wide variety of voices, and much of the craft lies in learning how to use yours effectively.

Is voice acting something you can really make a career from?
It absolutely can be. But like any creative career, it takes skill, practice, and persistence.

I feel nervous about performing in front of others. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many people feel this way at first, but confidence grows as you gain skills and experience.
