COURSE DETAILS
Step into new worlds and bring them to life. Character voice acting is a business - it’s more than doing funny voices. Characters must suit different genres, styles, audiences, and technical demands. Because auditions and jobs leave little time for development, you need a stable of 5-10 characters you can quickly draw on and adapt.
Delivered as 2-hour weekly sessions over 6 weeks, this training explores the character types needed for demos, auditions, and professional work. Each week covers character styles, techniques, genres, and industry expectations.
This is a fast-paced workshop with homework, so be prepared to play. Those ready to progress will be invited to the character demo stage. **Please note, demo recording is booked separately and we will send you more details after the Characters Foundation or feel free to contact us for costs when you are ready.**

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need any experience to attend this course?
This is a highly intensive course which we recommend you take only after completing STAGE 1 Narration and STAGE 2 Commercial. This is to ensure you have laid down the foundational acting techniques for performance and had the opportunity to work on advanced techniques in Commercial. If you are unsure about your current level of performance, get in touch with us for a chat.
Do I need a particular kind of voice to succeed in voice acting?
No. There’s no one “perfect” voice. The industry needs a wide variety of voices, and much of the craft lies in learning how to use yours effectively.
Is voice acting something you can really make a career from?
It absolutely can be. But like any creative career, it takes skill, practice, and persistence.
I feel nervous about performing in front of others. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many people feel this way at first, but confidence grows as you gain skills and experience.
